Progressive, Free, Stable, Opportunity and High Quality are attributes to the continuous economic success in Hong Kong. Sensibly, these are also the core values of Thai Hong Kong Trade Association. Our objective is representing the Hong Kong related business community in Thailand; contributing to the development of trade, relations and economic advancement between Thailand and Hong Kong, which is a key gateway to China through our extensive and vibrant network & communication platform among the social, business and government in both our home and hosting country.
Fully supported by Hong Kong Trade Development Council or HKTDC in Thailand, THTA is a member of Federation of HK Business Trade Association; our members are accessible to the global business contact of more than 10,000 members of 32 Hong Kong Trade Associations across 24 countries; participate in a variety of events and activities organized by member associations around the world. The most notable and successful ones are Hong Kong Forum and Asia Forum. These two events give our members the latest insight and information on doing business in Hong Kong, Chinese mainland and the hosting country in Asia. The program ranges from panel discussions and thematic workshops to topical addresses, networking sessions and face-to-face communication with senior executives from Hong Kong and around the world. In Thailand, with close cooperation with HKTDC, we facilitate our members in participating in trade shows, promotional missions, seminars, business matching and sourcing database and marketing intelligence services to expand their business in Thailand, Hong Kong and Chinese mainland.
Representing the Hong Kong business interest in Thailand, Thai Hong Kong Trade Association is an active member of JFCCT or Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand, together with other 30 chambers and business associations representing some 9,000 companies in Thailand, we conduct frequent dialogues with the Royal Thai government agencies such as the Board of Trade, Board of Investment and the Federation of Thai Industries. We exchange information and make representations for the mutual benefit of foreign business community and Thai economy.
Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region in China governed by the one country two systems. Besides the information about all consulate services for HK SAR citizens in Thailand, we keep close contact with the Chinese Embassy in Thailand to up date information about the China diplomacy relation, commerce and cultural development in Thailand. Meanwhile, we also cooperate directly with the Hong Kong Government Agency, such as Economic and Trade Office to arrange business seminars and promotion events to develop the economic and trade between two countries. Through the same channel, we provide opinions from different perspectives that contribute to policy making and refinement in Hong Kong.
At the end, THTA creates the social communication and supporting network for Hong Kong expatriates and Hong Kong related community in Thailand to meet and share our common values of the Hong Kong spirit.
